HOW IT WORKS
This is a basic overview of how the portable milling process works. Each site will be slightly different but will have all the same components
THE SAWYER
The sawyer will come to your location pulling our portable sawmill. They will bring everything required for the mills operation. Their job is to maximize the yield of each log that is put on the mill. They will do their very best to accommodate your milling needs.
THE OFF-BOARDER(S)
The off-boarders job is to remove , stack, and organize the lumber that has been milled. The mills production depends on their ability to move boards quickly and efficiently. Also, the off-boarders assist the sawyer in the loading of the logs on the mill.
THE STACKER(S)
The stackers assist the off-boarder in removing the lumber from the mill. They are in charge of properly stickering and stacking the material. If done properly, this maintains the quality of the lumber.
EXTRA HELP
Depending on the size of the job, extra help could be beneficial to aid the sawyer.
